What's Wrong With This Picture? Part 2

Holiday shopping sucks. There is so much demand, and so little supply. I have, and always will, hate economics. Whether it's a tickle me Elmo, a Furby, or Cabbage Patch Kids; there has always been the one "It" thing that people want to buy that year. And "want it" they do. I have never been part of this phenomenon... I have never wanted anything around the holidays that I was willing to spend all my time searching for it. I always saw myslef as being above all that... how little did I know.

On Dec 3, I was having lunch with a coworker we will call Tim. He mentioned to me that the Toys R' Us in Burbank was going to have Wii systems available the next morning. "Great!" I thought. I've wanted a Wii ever since they announced the system and this was my best opportunity to get one. We planned to meet at 12 midnight to try to be the first ones there. Spend the night in line so that we can get our hands on a new system. The plan was fool proof.

I get there at 11:45 pm. Lo and behold!!! There were people already in line... around 24 of them to be exact. Tim was told that there were only 24 systems abailable, and we were hoping that not everyone in line was going to buy one. So we sat down in our chairs for the wait.

to be continued...
