There has been a disturbing trend the last decade or so that bugs me to no end. We as a society started to tip-toe around subject matters because we feel like we might offend someone. Stewardesses were now flight attendants. Metermaids became parking enforcers. They took out the colors "Flesh" and "Indian Red" from Crayon boxes. This is all fine and dandy... but there has to be a line that we should not cross. There has to be an opportunity to be able to say what we mean, and not get looked down upon. I don't know where that line is... but damnit I have to say that not only did someone cross the freaking line, they peed and defecated on it too!!!"Teachers at several nursery schools in Oxfordshire, England, have been encouraging kids to learn the verse "Baa, baa, black sheep/Have you any wool?" without the word "black," but in its place a variety of emotions (e.g., "Baa, baa, sad sheep") or colors (including "Baa, baa, rainbow sheep") because they believe that kids with black skin might feel disrespected."
Come on now people!!! What's next?
